Wed, 9 July 2008 Part II of our smoked out podcast is now online! In this we taste some beers that defy description, just wonderful examples of bold, dark beers. Again, thank you to JeffreyT at the Good Beer Show.Opening song by Townes Van Zandt Closing song by Skypark Beers: Founders Breakfast Stout Bluegrass Brewing barrel aged stout Avery Mephistopheles Harviestoun Ola Dubh Comments[2] |
JeffreyT hooked you brothers UP, man! Damn. Founders Breakfast Stout is the monkey's uncle, OR SO I'VE HEARD! Never tasted it, but every single review I've read or heard has simply raved about it. Pure chocolate heaven, or as Mark put it "Cocoa Puffs times ten." And if you guys dug it, I know I will, when I finally have it in the year 2026.
The greatest quote "How equal is the board of equalization." So freakin' true, and a VERY good question, Rick. Let me know if you ever get an answer to that.
Glad you brought up the beer tax issues and laws. Any advocate of craft beer should definitely keep their eyes open, and keep an open line of communication with their senators. We know what's fair, and what's not fair. Joe Six Pack might stand for being overtaxed on that swill they're drinking, but damned if we're going to. We're smarter than that.
Great show, gentlemen. Keep 'em comin'.
Phil
PS: That reCAPTCHA thing in the comments section is a real bitch. Some of those words are tough to read. Granted, I'm not that bright to begin with, but still. I'm not sure if I'm seeing an 'e' or an 'a'.

You ought to fly out to Muncie the 20th of July. We are having a 5 course beer dinner. All Founder's stuff. We have the only keg of Breakfast Stout in Indiana. A pint of BS will be served with cheesecake for dessert.
